Blood Moon is a defining sideboard and maindeck card in Modern, punishing greedy nonbasic land bases. Red prison, midrange and some combo decks use it to shut off opposing colours and utility lands. Its presence forces many Modern decks to think carefully about fetchlands, shocks and basic counts. Because of that, Blood Moon remains one of the most format-warping enchantments available.
