Farewell is a flexible board wipe that can exile creatures, artifacts, enchantments and graveyards in various combinations. At six mana it is generally too slow for most Modern control decks, which lean toward cheaper sweepers. However, its ability to selectively clean up specific card types makes it attractive in some slower, big-mana or control brews. Its strong performance in Standard and Commander also feeds players curiosity about trying it in Modern environments.
